Nokia 5.1 Plus gets Android 9.0 Pie Update

Thanks to AndroidOne program, Nokia 5.1 Plus mobile has started getting Android 9.0 Pie update.

In August this year, along with Nokia 6.1 Plus; Nokia 5.1 Plus too was announced and from September 2018 onward, it was available in the Indian market.

Nokia 5.1 Plus gets Android 9.0 Pie Update



At the time of launch, Nokia 5.1 Plus came with an older Android OS, i.e. Android 8.1 Oreo; in only one variant of 3GB RAM and 32GB inbuilt storage.

Since HDM Global had already released the Android 9.0 Pie update for its Chinese brother #Nokia X5. It was just a matter of time, its global brother Nokia 5.1 Plus to get the Android 9.0 Pie update.

Nokia 5.1 Plus is the global variant of Nokia X5 mobile. Android 9.0 Pie Update was announced by an official of HMD Global via Twitter.

With this update, the mobile will get all the features of Android Pie, along with the latest security update of December 2018.

Price & availability of Nokia 5.1 Plus in India

Although Nokia 5.1 Plus was launched in August 2018 globally, it was made available in the Indian market from September 2018 at a price of Rs. 10,999/-

Similar to Nokia 6.1 Plus; Nokia 5.1 Plus too is exclusively sold online by Flipkart in India.

Flipkart is also offering some cool offers like No cost EMI, additional off on an exchange, and an additional bank discount (limited time offers).

Inside and Outside of Nokia 5.1 Plus

The heart of Nokia 5.1 Plus is powered by the Octa-Core MediaTek Helio P60 processor. The processor is clocked at a speed of 1.8 GHz (4 x A73 & 4 x A53), along with 3GB of RAM.

This mobile comes with an inbuilt storage capacity of 32GB; with an option of MicroSD card slot, that supports up to 400GB (hybrid slot).

Nokia 5.1 Plus gets an edge-to-edge display of 5.86-inch Full-HD+ at 720 × 1520 pixels, along with 2.5D Curved Glass on both the sides (no Gorilla Glass).

The display gets an aspect ratio of 19:9, along with the famous display notch, which has become a trend nowadays.

The mobile also gets a rear fingerprint sensor and will be available in Gloss Black, Gloss White, and Midnight Gloss Blue colors.

Nokia 5.1 Plus Camera and Connectivity

Nokia 5.1 Plus gets a dual rear camera setup - wherein the primary sensor is of 13 MP, and the secondary sensor is of 5 MP.

The front camera gets an 8 MP sensor, and the camera also gets an #AI feature for better photography.

The connectivity features includes – 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, A-GPS, 3.5mm headphone jack, USB Type-C and FM radio.

Also, the mobile gets a non-removable battery size of 3060 mAh with a 10 Watt charger, instead of an 18 Watt charger, that we saw in Nokia 6.1 Plus.

Nokia 5.1 Plus comes with a beautiful edge-to-edge display along with bloat free operating system.

This mobile now comes with Android 9.0 Pie update, with three years of monthly security updates (as mentioned on Nokia website) and two years of OS updates, thanks to AndroidOne program.
